Cowboys favored by 3 vs. Colts
ARLINGTON, TX (The Spread) – The Dallas Cowboys are in a must-win situation on Sunday when they host the AFC South champs, the Indianapolis Colts at 4:25PM ET.
Dallas is coming off a 38-27 win at Philadelphia last Sunday night to improve to 10-4 on the season and take a 1-game lead in the NFC East. The Cowboys lead the Eagles by a game in the standings, but Philly owns the head-to-head tiebreaker, so Dallas needs to stay ahead of the Eagles. The Cowboys are 8-6 against the spread this year and they have covered in two straight, but failed to cover in their last three home games.
The Colts have won four straight coming into this week following a 17-10 win over Houston last week. Indy has locked up the AFC South title, but they are a game behind Denver and New England for a bye in the playoffs, so they have plenty to play for. The Colts are 9-4-1 against the spread this season, going 6-3-1 ATS in their last 10 games.
The oddsmakers like the Cowboys to defend their home turf, as oddsmakers from Bovada.lv have given Dallas odds of -3 points against the Colts on Sunday (View Matchup). Dallas has won its last two meetings with the Colts, covering the spread in both games. The favorite has won and covered in three of the last four between these two.
This game could be an offensive showcase, as both teams rank among the best in the NFL in offense, with the Colts posting 421.4 yards per game and the Cowboys posting 377.7 yards per contest. Indy typically does it through the air, as Andrew Luck has thrown for 4,492 yards and 38 touchdowns. Dallas has been better on the ground behind DeMarco Murray, who has rushed for 1,687 yards and 11 scores. Murray had surgery this week for a broken hand, but he is still expected to play.
