Denver Broncos Fantasy Spin
Drew Lock completed 18-of-28 passes for 134 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Broncos’ 23-20, Week 13 win over the Chargers. Both of the rookie’s scores went to Courtland Sutton. The first was thanks to a ridiculously-impressive one-handed catch from Sutton, while Lock deserves credit for buying time and throwing a strike on the run for the second touchdown. He could’ve even had a third to DaeSean Hamilton if the slot WR didn’t let the ball bounce off his hands late in the fourth quarter. Lock was far from perfect; he threw an ill-advised interception over the middle and averaged a pedestrian 4.8 yards per attempt. Of course, a win is a win, and the Broncos couldn’t have done it without Lock and Sutton drawing a long defensive pass interference penalty to set up the game-winning field goal. Lock doesn’t seem likely to offer much fantasy production this season, but at least he’s proven capable of enabling Courtland Sutton to great heights.
Houston Texans Fantasy Spin
Deshaun Watson completed 18-of-25 passes for 234 yards and three touchdowns in the Texans’ Week 13 win over the Patriots. He added a six-yard receiving TD on a pass from DeAndre Hopkins. Watson spread it around in this one, with none of his receivers going over 70 yards. His touchdowns came on checkdowns to Duke Johnson and Darren Fells and a deep shot to Kenny Stills from 35 yards out. It’s a huge game from Watson that puts the Texans in the driver seat in the AFC South. Watson has another tough matchup against the Broncos in Week 14, but he’ll remain one of the top quarterback plays for the first round of the fantasy playoffs.
