Despite losing Dalton Bengals open as road favorites vs. 49ers in Week 15

Bengals open as road favorites in Week 15

The Bengals lost their quarterback last weekend but that hasn’t prevented oddsmakers from listing them as road favorites in Week 15.

Oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu have set the opening line in Week 15’s matchup between the Bengals and 49ers at Cincinnati -4. So despite losing starting signal-caller Andy Dalton to a potentially season-ending thumb injury in Week 14, the Bengals are still favored to beat the Niners on the road with backup A.J. McCarron starting.

Even though they’re listed as favorites to win this Sunday in Santa Clara, the Bengals’ Super Bowl odds took a major hit when Dalton fractured his thumb against the Steelers. Cincinnati went from 9/1 to win the Super Bowl, down to 30/1 following the injury. Dalton, who has never won a playoff game in his career, was having an outstanding season and had the Bengals poised to earn one of the top two spots in the AFC playoff picture this year.

McCarron completed 22-of-32 passes for 280 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Bengals’ Week 14 loss to the Steelers. One of his highlights was a 66-yard touchdown passes to A.J. Green, but he also tossed a pick-six in the loss. The second-year quarterback will be surrounded by talent in Cincinnati, but his inexperience will no doubt be a factor from here on out.
