MIAMI, FL (The Spread) – The Miami Dolphins look to tack on another win on Sunday when they host the New York Jets at 1PM ET.

Miami is coming off a 37-35 win over Minnesota at home to get to 8-7 on the year. The Dolphins have won just two of their last five, and they are 7-8 against the spread on the season. Miami has failed to cover the spread in four straight games and they have hit the over in their last two games.

The Jets are coming off a 17-16 loss to the New England Patriots last week to fall to 3-12 on the season. This game is likely to be the final one for coach Rex Ryan. New York is 5-9-1 against the spread on the year, but they have covered the spread in three of their last four games and they have hit the under in six of their last seven games.

According to oddsmakers from BetDSI Miami is the favorite at home, as the Dolphins are getting odds of -6 points against the Jets. The over/under total for the game has been set at 42 points (View Matchup). The road team has won five straight meetings in this series, including a 16-13 win for Miami on Dec. 1. The Jets have covered in two straight and these two have hit the under in seven of their last eight meetings.

In the first meeting between these two this season, the defense was the story, as New York was held to 326 yards while Miami had 291 yards. The Jets were held to just 49 passing yards while the Dolphins had only 74 rushing yards. Ryan Tannehill did what he could to lead the offense of Miami, as he went 25 of 35 passing for 235 yards. Miami will have to slow down the New York run game, as the Jets compiled 277 rushing yards in the first meeting, led by 105 from Chris Johnson.
