Miami Dolphins DFS Spin
Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had his best game since returning to play from a concussion two weeks ago. Against the Lions last weekend Tagovailoa threw for 382 yards and 3 touchdowns while posting a 92.8 QBR. He would be a nice option against a Bears pass defense ranked 18th in the league in yards allowed per pass attempt.
Dolphins wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle both gained over 100 receiving yards in last week’s game and they remain good DFS plays this week against the Bears. Hill is leading the NFL in targets (92), catches (69), and receiving yards (961). Tyreek Hill is currently on pace for 2,041 receiving yards, which would shatter Calvin Johnson’s single-season record of 1,964 yards set in 2012. Chicago will need to try to slow down Tyreek Hill if they want to have a chance at covering this game.
Chicago Bears DFS Spin
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields has become an attractive low-cost DFS play since the team began to tailor its offense to his strengths. Chicago offensive coordinator Luke Getsy has drawn up some designed quarterback runs for Fields and the early returns have been promising. Over the past two contests, Justin Fields has run the ball 22 times for 142 yards and 2 touchdowns. This change has opened up passing lanes and has boosted Fields’ completion percentage and QBR. He should be able to find some room to run against a Dolphins’ run defense that is tied for 11th in rushing yards allowed per attempt.
If you need a cheap running back, Chicago’s Khalil Herbert is the more explosive back of the Bears’ one-two punch that includes David Montgomery. Herbert is averaging 6.2 yards per carry and 10.3 yards per catch while scoring 4 total touchdowns on the year. He’ll need to step up if Chicago is going to cover this contest.
Dolphins vs. Bears Betting Trends
Miami is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
Miami is 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games after allowing over 250 passing yards in their previous game.
Chicago is 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS loss.
The underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings between Miami and Chicago.
Dolphins vs. Bears Prediction:
The best way for Chicago to slow down Miami’s high-powered passing offense is to keep them off the field. The Bears should be able to do that in this contest because they’re second in the NFL in rushing yards per attempt at 5.3. In Chicago’s Monday night win against New England, they held the ball for more than 37 minutes as the Patriots weren’t able to muster much offensively and turned the ball over multiple times. I think Chicago’s defense, which is seventh in the NFL in takeaways per game, forces some turnovers and runs the ball effectively enough to keep this game within a field goal. I’ll take the Bears at home and the points.
