Dolphins vs. Browns Odds
CLEVELAND, OH (The Spread) – Two teams in need of a good start meet at 1PM ET on Sunday on CBS as the Cleveland Browns host the Miami Dolphins.
Miami is coming off a 7-9 season where it went 7-8-1 against the spread and hit the under 11 times. Cleveland went 5-11 last season and was 8-7-1 against the spread while going under the total 10 times.
Trends show that the Browns are 4-0-1 against the spread in their last 5 games against the Dolphins and that the two teams have hit the under in 4 of their last 5 meetings.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, this game is even, as both teams have been given no point spread odds. The over/under total for this game has been set at 41 points (View Matchup). The opening odds for this game were even as well. The Browns were favored by a point at once, as were the Dolphins before the spread went back to even. The over/under total opened at 41 points and fell down to 39.5 before making the climb back up.
Miami had a struggle of a season last year, but the Dolphins have reason to be optimistic this season. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill is now in his second season and should improve after throwing for 3,294 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. Tannehill already had receiver Brian Hartline to throw to, but he now has Mike Wallace in the mix. The Dolphins signed Wallace in the offseason. The Dolphins already have a respectable defense that allowed 19.8 points per game a year ago.
Cleveland, like Miami, didn’t have much to be excited about, but this year’s team has some optimism. The Browns have a great young running back in Trent Richardson, who should rush for close to 1,500 yards if healthy. Brandon Weeden enters his second full season at quarterback, which should lead to some improvement. The Browns will need to improve on defense, as the team gave up 23 points and 363 yards per game last year.
In terms of Injuries, Miami defensive end Dion Jordan is questionable with a shoulder injury while Cleveland linebacker Barkevious Mingo is doubtful with a lung problem.
The Public Bets for this game are currently backing Cleveland. The Browns are getting 58% of the wagers with no point spread against Miami.
