According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Detroit is the slight favorite at home, as the Lions are getting odds of -2.5 points against Miami on Sunday. The over/under total for the game has been set at 43.5 points (View Matchup). The opening odds for this game had Detroit as a 2.5-point favorite and the spread hasn’t changed. The over/under total opened at 42.5 points and climbed to a high of 44 before settling in at 43.5.
Detroit is coming off the bye, but has won its last three prior, including a pair of one-point wins over the Saints and Falcons. The Lions have been led by their defense, which is allowing just 290.4 yards per game. The offense has been struggling, averaging only 338.7 yards per contest, but the team has been without Calvin Johnson most of the season. Johnson is expected to play this week after sitting out for a month with an ankle injury. Matthew Stafford has thrown for 2,216 yards and 11 touchdowns to lead the offense while Golden Tate has 55 receptions for 800 yards and three touchdowns. The defense is being led by DeAndre Levy, who has 75 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and one interception.
Miami enters this game having won three straight, including a 37-0 throttling of the San Diego Chargers last week. The Dolphins put on an impressive defensive display last week, holding an impressive San Diego offense to just 178 total yards while picking up four sacks and forcing four turnovers. The defense is now allowing just 304.6 yards per game on the season, while the offense is amassing 365.8 yards per game. Ryan Tannehill has thrown for 1,907 yards and 14 touchdowns while rushing for 245 yards. The defense has been led by Cameron Wake, who has 18 tackles with 6.5 sacks.
In terms of Injuries, Detroit tight ends Eric Ebron (hamstring) and Brandon Pettigrew (ankle) are both questionable for the game while defensive tackle Nick Fairley (knee) is out. Miami guard Daryn Colledge (migraine) and running back Lamar Miller (shoulder) is questionable.
