Tua Tagovailoa completed 16-of-27 passes for 196 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Dolphins’ 31-24, Week 15 win over the Jets. Missing his security blanket Jaylen Waddle (COVID-19), Tagovailoa had a seriously shaky outing, with his first interception being an awful no man’s land heave and the second a 20-yard pick six where he let Jets DB Brandin Echols read his eyes for an eternity. He compensated by finding each of DeVante Parker, Isaiah Ford, Mike Gesicki and Albert Wilson for a 20-plus yard gain, but Tagovailoa was struggling whenever his first read was covered. He needs Waddle back in the worst way for Week 16 against a Saints pass defense that has really come back down to earth in 2021. Despite that, Tagovailoa will not be a recommended streamer for the second week of the fantasy playoffs.

NOLA.com’s Jeff Duncan reports the Saints tried to lure Drew Brees out of retirement for Monday night’s game with Miami. Coach Sean Payton called Brees, according to Duncan, who gave it “serious thought.” Brees “nixed the idea” because he would have had less than a week to prepare. The Saints also checked in with Philip Rivers and Josh McCown about starting this week before ultimately signing Blake Bortles to back up to rookie Ian Book. It’s notable Brees was interested in returning to the Saints as a starter, but with Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian expected back from the COVID list next week, Brees will remain in his post-playing career.
NFL Week 16 Betting Prediction
The Dolphins are 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven games overall, are 13-4 against the number in their last 17 games after allowing less than 250 total yards in their previous game and are 5-1 at the betting window in their last six games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous contest. The Saints, meanwhile, are 1-4 against the spread in their last five home games, are 1-5 against the spread in their last six Monday Night Football matchups and are 1-6 at the betting window in their last seven games following an ATS win.
