Eagles vs. Giants Total Pick
Will Sunday’s NFC East matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants turn into a low-scoring game at 1:00 p.m. ET?
Game Info
Matchup: Eagles (11-2) at Giants (2-11)
TV: FOX, 1:00 p.m. ET
Line: Eagles -7.5
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the over/under currently sits at 40.5 points after hitting the board at 40. As for the point spread, the Eagles are now 7.5-point road favorites to beat the Giants, who opened as an 8-point underdog.
PUBLIC BETTING: As of this writing, 63% of the betting tickets are on the Eagles to cover the spread but 53% of the money is on the Giants.
INJURY REPORT: Carson Wentz is out for the season after tearing his knee in last week’s win over the Rams. The Eagles should get tight end Zach Ertz back, however, as he’s probable to return from a concussion that kept him out last week.
On the other side, Damon Harrison (finger) and safety Landon Collins (ankle) are both questionable for the Giants. New York is one of the most banged-up teams in the league, as Brandon Marshall, Odell Beckham Jr., Justin Pugh, Janoris Jenkins, D.J. Fluker and Weston Richburg are all out for the year.
OUR PREDICTION: Nick Foles will start for the injured Wentz and I could see the Eagles relying more on their running game and defense to win games. That’s not to suggest that Foles is a total stiff, but it makes sense to limit his pass attempts and rely on your other strengths. If I’m right, there will be more of a running clock for the Eagles and that certainly plays well for under bettors.
Speaking of the under, in the Giants’ last four games, the under is a perfect 4-0. The under is also 8-2 in their last 10 home games, is 4-1 in their last five divisional games, and is 9-2 in their last 11 games when playing on fieldturf. New York won’t move the ball much, if any, on Philly’s nasty defense.
NFL WEEK 15 OVER/UNDER PREDICTION: EAGLES/GIANTS UNDER 40.5
