Eagles vs. Dolphins Week 14 Odds
MIAMI, FL (The Spread) – While the Dolphins are essentially out of playoff contention they continue to fight every week. They same cannot be said for their opponent on Sunday, the Eagles.
PHILADELPHIA: The Eagles don’t have much going for themselves these days. They’ve now lost four of their last five, with the latest defeat coming in embarrassing fashion on the road against the Seahawks last Thursday night. Thanks to an ugly performance by the entire Philadelphia team, the Seahawks dominated the Eagles, 31-14. The Eagles have now failed to cover in four of their last five games and are currently sitting at 4-8 in the NFC East. With only four games remaining in the season, it’s going to take the Eagles sweeping the rest of their games and a whole lot of help for them to make the playoffs. With most fans longed turned on Andy Reid, Philly might be looking for a new head coach next offseason.
MIAMI: Just like the Eagles, the Dolphins are also sitting at 4-8 on the season but they clearly haven’t stopped fighting. They’ve won four of their last five games and while they did lose to the Cowboys 20-19 on Thanksgiving Day, the Fish covered as 7-point underdogs. Miami’s latest win was impressive, as it knocked off then-division leading Oakland, 34-14. Matt Moore has thrown for 1,602 passing yards while Reggie Bush has 667 rushing yards and six touchdowns on the year.
ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the Dolphins as 3-point favorites over the Eagles for Sunday’s game, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 45 points. PHILADELPHIA enters the game with a 4-8 overall record and is 3-3 on the road this year while Miami is 4-8 overall and 3-3 at home.
TRENDS: The Eagles are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games against the Dolphins but they’re 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. They’re also 0-6 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 2-7 ATS in their last nine games following an ATS loss. The Dolphins, meanwhile, are 6-0 ATS in the spread in their last six games overall and 5-0 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win.
