Will the Eagles cover as a slight road favorite today when they visit the Redskins at 1:00PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Eagles are 2.5-point road favorites versus the Redskins after opening as a 2-point favorite earlier this week. As for the total, the number hit the board at 44.5 but has been bet up a half-point to 45.

Bet Today’s NFL Games

The Eagles have covered in five of their last six games played in Week 6 and are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall. That said, they’ve struggled to cover versus NFC opponents, going 2-5 at the betting window in their last seven games within the conference. They’re also winless at 0-4 ATS in their last four games after allowing less than 250 total yards in their previous contest.

The Redskins are now 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games following a win and are 5-2 at the betting window in their last seven games coming off an ATS win. They’re 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games overall and have covered in five of seven games versus NFC East rivals.

OUR PREDICTION: While Doug Pederson and Carson Wentz are seeking to become the first rookie head coach/quarterback tandem since the 1970 merger to start the season 4-1, the Eagles will win this game today on the backs of their defense. Jim Schwartz’s unit is sacking opponents on 8.7 percent of dropbacks, which is tied with Denver for most in the NFL. The Eagles are also allowing just 41.5 rushing yards per game and 3.1 yards per rush between the tackles, both second-best in the NFL. Without a running game, Kirk Cousins should struggle and assuming the Eagles do a great job protecting the ball, they should leave D.C. with a victory.
