Philadelphia Eagles DFS Spin
Jalen Hurts completed 19-of-28 passes for 285 yards and four touchdowns in the Eagles’ Week 8 win against the Steelers, adding two rushes for ten yards. Hurts toyed with a horrible Steelers secondary that stood no chance against Hurts and A.J. Brown, who scored three touchdowns — and nearly a fourth — in the game’s first three quarters. Hurts’ day would’ve been even better if the Eagles hadn’t benched him with ten minutes to go in the fourth quarter against an uncompetitive Steelers team that didn’t seem to have much interest in winning Sunday. Hurts was patient throughout, making reads and exploiting favorable coverage of Brown and Dallas Goedert, who caught all six of his targets for 64 yards in the first three quarters before joining the rest of the team’s starters on the bench. The Hurts-led Philly offense has been a machine for much of the past two months, bolstered by an ultra-aggressive head coach willing to go for it on fourth downs and forgo field goals near the end zone. Hurts will again be an elite option in Week 9 against the Texans. He might not have to play more than two quarters against Houston.
Houston Texans DFS Spin
Davis Mills completed 17-of-29 passes for 152 yards and an interception in the Texans’ 17-10, Week 8 loss to the Titans. Mills was sitting at 64 passing yards without a score until Houston’s final drive of the game. Though the game wasn’t technically decided, the last gasp from Houston had the appearance of garbage time. Mills drove down the field with a few long throws to Brandin Cooks before finding Dameon Pierce open at the goal line. It was an otherwise dreadful day from the second-year quarterback. Facing the Eagles in Week 9, Mills will be hard to start even in Superflex leagues.
