Chiefs vs. Patriots Week 11 Odds
FOXBORO, MA (The Spread) – The Patriots take on a banged up Chiefs football team on Monday Night Football tonight.
KANSAS CITY: The Chiefs have gone from pathetic to competitive to back to pathetic in the course of 10 weeks. After rattling off four straight wins following their three-straight losses to start the year, Kansas City has now lost its last two games. After the Dolphins crushed them 31-3 at Arrowhead, the Chiefs fell to the Broncos in Week 10 despite Tim Tebow only completing two passes. Kansas City’s offense continues to struggle without Jamaal Charles (IR) and now Matt Cassel could be done for the year with his own injury. Tyler Palko will make his NFL debut tonight in place of Cassel.
NEW ENGLAND: Bill Belichick and Tom Brady made it a mission not to lose three straight games when they travel to New York last Sunday night. They soundly defeated the Jets 37-16 to pick up their sixth win of the season and give themselves a one-game lead over New York and Buffalo in the AFC East. New England is now 6-3 overall and 5-4 against the spread, although they’ve failed to cover in three of their last four games.
ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the Patriots as a 16.5-point favorite over the Chiefs, while the over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 46.5 points. Kansas City comes into this week with a 4-5 record overall and is 2-2 on the road, while New England is 6-3 overall and 3-1 at home.
TRENDS: The Chiefs are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games as an underdog and 4-1 ATS in their lat five games as a road underdog. They’re also 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven Monday games. The Patriots are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games versus the AFC and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Monday games.
