Desmond Ridder completed 13-of-26 passes for 97 yards in the Falcons’ 21-18, Week 15 loss to the Saints, adding six rushes for 38 additional yards. There is no way to sugarcoat it: The No. 74 overall pick was awful in his NFL debut. Averaging 3.7 yards per attempt, Ridder was lucky to escape without multiple turnovers, including one would-be giveaway near the goal line that probably should have been a 100-yard pick six. He appeared to “complete” a second half pick, but the Saints’ defender couldn’t get both feet down in bounds. 18 of Ridder’s rushing yards came on the final play of the game, where for some unknown reason he ran out of bounds instead of trying to lateral the ball. Understandably terrified of Ridder giving the ball away, the Falcons dialed up 39 rushes, gaining a strong 239 yards in the process. Expect the exact same approach in Week 16 against the Ravens. Ridder will not be a recommended streamer.
Baltimore Ravens DFS Spin
Lamar Jackson (knee) won’t play in Baltimore’s Week 16 game against the Falcons. He’s now missed every practice for three straight weeks since spraining his PCL. He’ll begin Week 17 on the questionable line. Baltimore isn’t in such a dire situation that Jackson necessarily needs to play if there’s a risk of aggravation, particularly if they are able to handle the Falcons this week. What was originally a “1-3 week” timeline has hit the end of the timeline with Jackson no closer to playing. It would not surprise us if Jackson continued to be handled carefully in Week 17.

Falcons vs. Ravens Prediction:
The Falcons failed to cover in four of their last five games against the Ravens, failed to cover in six of their last eight games overall and are just 2-6-1 against the spread in their last nine games against an opponent with a winning record. On the other side, the Ravens are 12-4 against the number in their last 16 games played in the month of December and have covered in seven of their last nine games after scoring less than 15 points in their previous contest.
