WAS/NYG vie for NFC East lead
First place for the NFC East is up for grabs today when the Washington Redskins host the New York Giants at 1PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Giants are the slim favorite on the road, as New York is getting odds of -2.5 points at Washington. The over/under total for the game has been set at 47 points. These two meet today at 1PM ET on FOX.
The Giants come into the day leading the NFC East by a game over Washington. Philadelphia is sitting at 4-7 while the Cowboys are 3-8 and dealing with an injury to Tony Romo for the rest of the year. These two met back on Sept. 24 with the Giants getting a 32-21 win at home, covering a 3-point spread in the process.
The Giants have actually dominated the recent series, winning and covering the spread in five straight meetings. Washington actually outgained New York in the meeting earlier this season, but the Redskins committed three turnovers while New York had none. Kirk Cousins threw two interceptions in the loss. Turnovers have been an issue for Cousins this year, as he has 10 interceptions to 15 touchdowns. In all four Washington wins, Cousins hasn’t had an interception. Cousins is facing a New York defense that has 14 interceptions on the season, which ranks tied for second most in the NFL.
