Giants vs. Bucs NFL Week 3 Prediction
Daniel Jones will draw his first NFL start on Sunday when the Giants visit the Bucs at 4:05 p.m. ET. Will Jones lead the Giants to an upset win or at least a cover for bettors as 6-point road underdog?

New York Giants Fantasy Spin
Giants announced rookie Daniel Jones as the team’s Week 3 starter. And the crowd roars. It was an obvious transition once coach Pat Shurmur left the door open for a potential change on Monday, but the good news is the organization didn’t hold back any longer despite being on the books for Eli Manning’s $23.5 million in 2019. Danny Dimes most recently went 29-of-34 (85.3%) for 416 yards and two scores on just 60 snaps during the preseason. He’ll likely battle uphill in his first start without Sterling Shepard (concussion) and Golden Tate (suspension), but it’s the correct call to insert the No. 6 overall pick immediately. It’s not farfetched to think Week 2 was the last start of Eli’s career, finishing with a 116-116 regular season record over 16 seasons.
Tampa Bay Bucs Fantasy Spin
Jameis Winston (foot) is practicing in full for Week 3 against the Giants. Winston surprisingly popped up on the team’s injury report but will start after practicing in full. It’s only concerning since recency bias brings to mind Ben Roethlisberger, who (secretly) dealt with an injury heading into Pittsburgh’s Week 2 matchup against the Seahawks, struggled, then was promptly ruled out for the year. If healthy, it’s likely a week Winston and the Bucs’ offense get back on track against a shoddy Giants defense allowing 10.6 yards per attempt.
NFL Betting Trends
New York
The Giants are 7-1 against the spread in their last eight road games but are just 1-4 against the number in their last five games overall.
Tampa Bay
The Bucs are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall and are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games after allowing less than 15 points in their previous contest.
Prediction
The Giants have a good betting track record in Tampa, covering in five of their last six games at Raymond James Stadium with one push. The G-Men are also 6-1-2 against the number in their last nine games versus the Bucs overall, while the road team is 5-0-1 ATS in the last six meetings as well. The Bucs had some value last Thursday night as a road underdog in a divisional matchup against the Panthers and a banged-up Cam Newton. But I like them less as a touchdown-sized home favorite against a Giants team that might get a punch in the arm with Jones starting.
