New York Giants DFS Spin
Saquon Barkley rushed nine times for 53 yards and two touchdowns, adding five receptions for 56 yards on six targets in the Giants’ Wild Card Round win over the Vikings. Barkley read his blocks beautifully and made quick cuts to slice the Vikings’ defense for a 28-yard score. He also punched in a 2-yard TD. Barkley only had nine carries, but his small workload reflected a Giants game plan that included a lot of passing and Daniel Jones scrambles. Matt Breida saw just three carries and wasn’t a major factor. Barkley could see more work next week against the Eagles, with the Giants facing a defense that has had difficulty stopping the run all year. He shapes up as a high-end skill position play.
Philadelphia Eagles DFS Spin
Jalen Hurts completed 20-of-35 attempts for 229 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception, adding 13 yards on nine carries in the Eagles’ 22-16, Week 18 win over the Giants. Hurts was able to find A.J. Brown deep for 35 and 37-yard receptions. He also hit DeVonta Smith for a TD, but that was called back because of a holding penalty. It wasn’t a strong day for Hurts overall, but the Eagles called a more conservative game than usual, which makes sense given that Hurts was nursing a shoulder injury. Critically, the Eagles earned a bye week with their Week 18 win. When Jalen Hurts hosts his first playoff game, he will be an elite quarterback play, despite looking uninspiring this week.
