Are Giants even with Titans?
NASHVILLE, TN (The Spread) – Both out of playoff contention, who will show they have more to play for when the New York Giants meet the Tennessee Titans on Sunday?
The Giants somehow blew a 21-3 lead against the Jaguars last Sunday and lost, 25-24 to fall to 3-9 on the season. New York once had a promising season building, as it started 3-2, but they have since lost seven straight, with their last three games decided by 6 points or less. They are also just 4-8 against the spread.
Things are no better for Tennessee. The Titans are coming off a 45-21 loss at Houston last week to fall to 2-10 on the season. Tennessee has lost six straight games, with four of the six decided by at least 14 points. The Titans are just 3-8-1 against the spread.
Oddsmakers seem perplexed by this game as well, as oddsmakers from BetDSI have made this game even, giving neither team any points (View Matchup). The over/under total for the game has been set at 45.5 points. This clash will take place on Sunday at 1PM ET on FOX. Be sure to set your DVR.
The key to this game seems to be which rushing defense will be worse. New York is 31st in the NFL defending the ground game, allowing 140.6 yards per game. Tennessee ranks 32nd, allowing 141.5 yards per game. The edge may go to the Giants, who have had success on the ground with Rashad Jennings. He has rushed for 598 yards and four touchdowns in eight games of action, including 91 yards and two scores in last week’s loss.
