Jets vs. Browns Pick
Given issues at quarterback on both sides, will Sunday’s game between the Browns and Jets be low-scoring for bettors?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Browns are 3-point home underdogs versus the visiting Jets while the over/under currently sits at 43.5 points. Neither the side nor the total has moved off the original number posted by oddsmakers.
The Jets finally snapped a four-game losing streak when they rallied to beat the Ravens 24-16. Starter Geno Smith was injured during the game, leading way to Ryan Fitzpatrick to make his return to the lineup. After he led the Jets to a victory, he took the time in his post-game comments to rip the organization’s owner, general manager, and coaching staff for not believing in him. The Jets are now 2-5 on the year and 2-5 against the spread, with their only covers coming against the Ravens last week and Week 2 against the Bills on Thursday Night Football.
The Browns remain winless on the year following their 31-17 loss to the Bengals. Commenters continue to say how competitive Cleveland has been, but the fact remains that they’re just 2-5 against the spread this season. They continue to fall apart in the second half of games and their merry-go-round at quarterback is a weekly adventure. Last week Kevin Hogan was forced into action after Cody Kessler suffered an injury.

OUR PREDICTION: Josh McCown is expected to start on Sunday, which is a positive for the Browns. He’s a journeyman that had one good half-year for the Bears but he’s a professional and should help the Browns move the ball. That said, the under is still the play here. The under is 4-1 in the Browns’ last five home games, is 6-1 in the Jets’ last seven road games and is 5-1 in New York’s last six games versus a team with a losing record.
