Green Bay Packers Fantasy Spin
Aaron Rodgers completed 26-of-40 passes for 216 scoreless yards and one interception in the Packers’ 23-10, Week 16 win over the Vikings. Rodgers wasn’t very good, but he was good enough. His interception was his first since Week 6, and this was his seventh straight 243-yards or fewer passing game. Rodgers has just one multi-touchdown game in that span. The Packers are 12-3 but not because of Rodgers. Green Bay will try to ride Aaron Jones in its slow-paced ball-control offense throughout the playoffs. Rodgers just has nobody to throw to outside of Davante Adams. The Packers go to Detroit in Week 17 where they still have seeding to play for in that one.
Detroit Lions Fantasy Spin
David Blough completed 12-of-24 passes for 117 yards and a touchdown Sunday in the Lions’ Week 16 loss to the Broncos. The Broncos got to him for four sacks, costing Blough a combined 22 yards. Blough slung a three-yard touchdown to Kenny Golladay, propelling Detroit to a short-lived 17-13 lead with 3:51 to go in the third quarter. The Broncos responded by scoring 14 unanswered points, sending the Lions to their eighth straight defeat. An undrafted rookie playing on the road without one of his top receivers (Marvin Jones), Blough walked into a hornet’s nest in Week 16. At least he didn’t turn the ball over, an improvement from previous starts. Blough and the Lions won’t have it any easier against the Packers in Week 17. Now jockeying for draft position, the 3-11-1 Lions are fully embracing the tank.
