Packers at 49ers Spread Prediction
The Green Bay Packers are 9-point home favorites tonight against the banged-up San Francisco 49ers at 8:15 p.m. ET. Will Aaron Rodgers and Co. cover the number in this Monday Night Football matchup?
Game Snapshot
277 San Francisco 49ers at 278 Green Bay Packers

Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin
Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Packers are 9-point favorites to beat the 49ers. The total, meanwhile, sits at 46 points. As of this writing, 65% of the public betting tickets are on the Packers to cover the point spread.
San Francisco 49ers
George Kittle (knee) is questionable for Week 6 against the Packers. Kittle is expected to play after a limited week of practice. With the 49ers down Trent Taylor and Pierre Garcon at less than 100 percent, Kittle is going to see a high target share in a game the 49ers should be playing from behind.
Green Bay Packers
Geronimo Allison (questionable, hamstring) is a game-time decision for Week 6 against the 49ers. Coach Mike McCarthy said he’ll give Allison (hamstring) and teammate Randall Cobb (hamstring) “right up until Monday’s pre-game workouts” before officially declaring their statuses. McCarthy is reportedly “leaving the door open” for both to play, but it’s not a certainty either will be ready by Monday night. If both are out, rookies Marquez Valdes-Scantling (7/68/1 Sunday) and Equanimeous St. Brown (3/89) will again be used in full-time roles, with MVS entering the conversation as a strong WR3. If just Allison is out, it’s possible St. Brown is used more on the outside given that Valdes-Scantling has primarily been used in the slot (67%) sans Cobb the past two weeks. Both receivers are true game-time decisions.
NFL Betting Trends
San Francisco
The 49ers are 4-11-2 against the spread in their last 17 games against the Packers and are 1-4-1 against the number in their last six games in Green Bay.
Green Bay
The Packers are just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games overall.
Prediction
Both teams are banged-up entering tonight but the 49ers are missing more key pieces than the Packers, including quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, Richard Sherman (questionable, calf), Joe Staley (questionable, knee), Matt Breida (questionable, ankle), and George Kittle (questionable, knee). While the Cardinals pushed as a 10-point dog in Minnesota on Sunday and the Bills covered as a 10-point dog in Houston this week, I like the Packers to cover the big number tonight. If the 49ers were healthier I could see them putting up a fight until fading late but I see the Packers starting fast and pulling away in the third quarter.
