Houston Texans Fantasy Spin
Deshaun Watson completed 28-of-50 passes for 292 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in Houston’s Week 14 loss to the Broncos. He also added two touchdowns with his legs in the second half, notching Houston’s single-season record for the most rushing scores (6) for a quarterback. His second one in particular will likely lede highlight packages across local news broadcasts as he danced his way around a defender and hurdled another before stretching the ball across the pylon to bring the Texans within two scores. Will Fuller’s (hamstring) absence cratered Houston’s offense from the beginning as they were faced with a 31-3 deficit heading into the half. Watson should still be fired up across lineups in the Texans’ must-win AFC South showdown against the Titans in Week 15.
Tennessee Titans Fantasy Spin
Ryan Tannehill completed 21-of-27 passes for 391 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in the Titans’ Week 14 win over the Raiders. As everyone expected, Tannehill has morphed into a Hall of Fame quarterback since taking the keys from Marcus Mariota in Week 7. The ex-Dolphin is now averaging 9.9 yards per attempt and is leading all quarterbacks in expected points added per attempt. One main difference between Tennessee Tannehill and Miami Tannehill has been confidence. This week, Tannehill was maneuvering in and out of the pocket and throwing the ball deeper downfield, including across field throws for touchdowns. Tannehill should continue his hot stretch in Week 15 with the burnable Texans coming to Nashville. He’ll be on the QB1/2 radar then.
NFL Betting Trends
Houston
The under is 20-9 in the Texans’ last 29 games versus conference opponents while the over is 4-1 in the Texans’ last five games in December.
Tennessee
The over is 4-0 in the Titans’ last four home games and is 5-0 in their last five conference games.
Prediction
Over their last four games, the Titans scored 42 (at Oakland), 31 (at Indianapolis), 42 (vs. Jacksonville) and 35 (vs. Kansas City) points. Since Tannehill took over for the ineffective Marcus Mariota, this Tennessee offense has come alive. Tannehill is one of the more confident quarterbacks in the league right now and Derrick Henry is a beast to bring down in November and December when defenses are more tired. Houston’s defense didn’t provide much resistance to rookie quarterback Drew Lock and Denver last Sunday, so Tennessee should score plenty again this weekend. Meanwhile, the Titans defense hasn’t been as sharp over the past month-and-a-half compared to the first half of the season. Deshaun Watson and DeAndre Hopkins haven’t been shut down all season, so the Texans should contribute plenty to the over as well.
