How much did Aaron Rodgers’ injury impact the Packers’ Super Bowl Odds? 10/16/17

How Rodgers’ Injury Impacts GB’s Odds

How much did Aaron Rodgers’ collarbone injury impact the Packers’ Super Bowl odds?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Packers are now 25/1 long shots to win the upcoming Super Bowl. Before Rodgers went down with his collarbone injury, the Packers were 6/1 to win this year’s NFL title, which put them among the true contenders. It goes to show you not only how much a starting quarterback means to a team, but Rodgers specifically.

Bet NFL Week 7 Games

Rodgers was carted to the locker room on Sunday in Minnesota after he was buried into the turf by Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr. Rodgers was rolling out of the pocket midway through the first quarter and was immediately in pain and taken to the injury tent before eventually being carted to the locker room. FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer then reported that the Packers feared Rodgers suffered a broken collarbone, news that was confirmed following the game.

Brett Hundley replaced Rodgers and completed just 18-of-33 passes for 157 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions as the Packers lost to the Vikings as a major public play. It was Hundley’s first real extensive experience after being a 2015 fifth-round pick out of UCLA. Hundley couldn’t get much going in Green Bay’s offense, with his first interception coming in his own territory on a tipped ball on a third down.

Rodgers’ injury is also impacting the point spread for the Packers’ Week 7 meeting with the Saints. Even though Green Bay is at home, the Packers are listed as 4.5-point underdogs at the majority of online sportsbooks. The over/under is currently sitting at 47.5 for that game.
