Is 47.5 points too many for the Colts and Titans to get? Here’s our pick

Colts vs. Titans Pick

Will the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans find enough offense to hit the under when they meet up this Sunday at 1PM ET?

According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Titans are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -3 points against the Colts. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 47.5 points. The Colts have won nine straight meetings with the Titans and the two have hit the over in five of their last seven encounters.

Bet on Colts vs. Titans

The Colts are coming off a 26-23 OT loss to the Texans in Houston last week to fall to 2-4 on the season. They have hit the over in five of six games this season thanks to a high-powered passing attack and a poor defense. Indy is averaging 26.7 points and 388.7 yards per game on offense, including 286.8 passing yards per game. Andrew Luck has thrown for 1,721 yards and 11 touchdowns this season with just four interceptions, but the Colts are struggling to protect him. He has been sacked 23 times and the Indy run game has just 611 yards in six games. On defense, the Colts are giving up 29 points and 418.5 yards per game this season, including 300.8 passing yards per contest. The unit also has amassed just eight sacks while creating only six turnovers.

The Titans are coming off a 28-26 win over the Browns to improve to 3-3 on the season. Tennessee is 4-2 with the over this season, which is somewhat surprising given they average just 20 points per game on offense and allow only 21.2 points per game on defense. The Tennessee offense is led by Marcus Mariota, who has put up 1,372 passing yards with 10 touchdowns, but also has six interceptions. He also has run for 196 yards and a score, but the rushing leader is DeMarco Murray, who has 526 yards and four scores in 2016. Murray is currently fourth in the NFL in rushing. Defensively, the Titans are also strong up front, picking up 18 sacks this season. Brian Orakpo is third in the NFL right now with seven sacks in 2016. The unit also has six interceptions, which ranks sixth in the league.

I sense Indy is going to have some problems maintaining its passing level when it heads to Tennessee on Sunday. The Titans are a good defensive unit and the Colts aren’t likely to improve their ground game against Tennessee’s strong front. The Colts aren’t a great defense either, but I don’t see the Titans having the fire power to really light up the scoreboard against them. Look for the under to hit in this contest.
