Jags dominated at KC
The Jaguars suffered a 30-14 loss at Kansas City last weekend to fall to 3-2 on the season. Jacksonville is also 3-2 against the spread while going 3-2 with the under on the year.
The Jaguars continue to be one of the best defensive teams in the league, allowing just 17.2 points and 310.4 yards per game. Offensively, Jacksonville is averaging 416 yards per game, but it is only leading to 20.4 points per contest. The offense continues to be without Leonard Fournette, who is out again this week with a hamstring injury. He has just 71 yards on 20 carries. Blake Bortles has rushed for more, as he has 166 yards. Bortles has also thrown for 1,525 yards and eight touchdowns, but also has seven interceptions.
Cowboys slip up in OT
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off a 19-16 OT loss at Houston last Sunday night to drop to 2-3 on the year. The Cowboys are 2-3 against the spread while posting a 4-1 record with the under.
Dallas hasn’t been able to get on track on offense this year. The Cowboys are putting up just 16.6 points and 328 yards per game. Ezekiel Elliott is doing quite well, rushing for 480 yards and two touchdowns, but Dak Prescott is struggling. He has thrown for 961 yards and five touchdowns with four interceptions. He also has been sacked 16 times. Defensively, Dallas is giving up 19.2 points and 358.6 yards per game. The Cowboys have a strong pass rush with 15 sacks. DeMarcus Lawrence has 5.5 sacks while Jaylon Smith has three sacks with a team-high 41 tackles.
NFL Betting Trends
Jacksonville
The Jags have hit the under in four of their last five road games and in five of their last six games on fieldturf.
Dallas
The Cowboys are 12-2 with the under in their last 14 games overall and in five of their last seven home games.
Prediction:
While Dallas is dealing with some injuries on defense, I think they will be fine against the Jags. Jacksonville hasn’t played well on the road and they continue to lack a consistent run game with Fournette out. Dallas’ offense is going to struggle with the Jags’ defense as well. Prescott isn’t going to be able to carve up that secondary and I think Elliott will be contained on the ground.
NFL Prediction: Jaguars/Cowboys Under 40.5
