Jacksonville Jaguars DFS Spin
Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence was on the injury report listed as questionable all week with an injury to his left big toe. He practiced Friday and said he felt “good” afterward, so he’s expected to play on Sunday. That means you can safely deploy Jacksonville pass catchers like Christian Kirk, Evan Engram, and Marvin Jones Jr. Wide receiver Zay Jones is questionable with a chest injury and his absence may elevate the target share of the players mentioned above.
The Tennessee Titans have the second-best run defense in the NFL in terms of yards per attempt (3.8). That means there will be some considerable risk if you elect to use Jags’ running back Travis Etienne Jr. in DFS this weekend. Etienne has gotten at least 10 carries in 7 of his last 8 games while averaging 5.4 yards per rushing attempt. If the game is close he may get a lot of usage against Tennessee this weekend.
Tennessee Titans DFS Spin
When the Titans are playing, you almost always want to consider using Derrick Henry in DFS. Henry is second in the NFL in rushing attempts (258), third in rushing yards (1,078), and tied for fourth in runs of 20+ yards (7). He’ll be facing a Jacksonville defense that’s seventh in the league in opponent average yards per rushing attempt, but he should get around 15 carries despite that fact.
Tennessee will be a little shorthanded at wide receiver this weekend. The Titans’ leading receiver is rookie Treylon Burks, and he’ll miss Sunday’s game with a concussion. That should open the door for wide receivers Robert Woods and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. They should see more targets with Burks out and they’ll be facing a Jacksonville defense ranked 26th in the NFL in opponent yards per passing attempt.
Jaguars vs. Titans Betting Trends
Jacksonville is 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 road games.
Jacksonville is 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 meetings in Tennessee.
Tennessee is 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games against teams with a losing record.
The favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between Jacksonville and Tennessee.
Jaguars vs. Titans Prediction:
The Titans are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against the AFC South and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. They also rank 6th in the NFL with a yards-per-point margin of 2.0. Jacksonville on the other hand ranks 18th in the NFL with a yards-per-point margin of -0.1. I think the Titans are the best team in the AFC South and that they’re going to win this division. In order to do that, they have to win division showdowns against inferior opponents like the Jaguars. I think Tennessee takes care of business on Sunday, so I’ll lay the points with the Titans.
