Jets vs. Broncos Prediction
Will the New York Jets make it back-to-back wins when they travel to Denver on Sunday and take on the struggling Broncos at 4:05 p.m. ET?
Who Oddsmakers Like: New York. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Jets are 1-point road favorites to beat the Broncos, who opened as 1.5-point favorites earlier in the week. As for the total, the number hit the board at 40.5 and that’s where it currently sits.
Who the Public Likes: As of Sunday afternoon, 67% of the betting tickets for this game are on the Jets but only 51% of the money.
Who the Trends Like: Denver and the under. The Jets are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games against the Broncos while the under has cashed in five of the last six meetings between these two teams in Denver.
Who We Like: New York. Honestly, I’m taking the Jets on principle. The Broncos are 3-12-1 against the spread in their last 16 games overall. They’re also 3-12-1 against the number in their last 16 conference games. They have failed to cover the spread in seven straight games and are winless at 0-4 at the betting window in their last four games played in December.
So if you can find a good reason to bet the Broncos, go for it. But for my money, there’s zero reason to back a team with no quarterback, no offensive identity, and a defense that gave up on the season over a month ago.
Meanwhile, the Jets have been competitive nearly every week this season. They’re 6-0-1 against the spread in their last seven conference games, are 12-4-2 against the number in their last 18 games played in December, and are 7-2-1 at the betting window in their last 10 games overall.
