New York Jets DFS Spin
ESPN’s Rich Cimini reports Joe Flacco will start Week 2 against the Browns. There were chants for QB Mike White as early as the second quarter in the Jets’ humiliating home loss to Baltimore in Week 1. Head coach Robert Saleh is rolling with Flacco despite his massive Week 1 struggles (37 of 59 for 309 yards for one touchdown and an interception). Flacco was all over the place against the Ravens, posting the week’s eighth lowest completion rate over expected. He was sacked three times, hit 11 times, and pressured 19 times on 62 drop backs. SNY’s Connor Hughes said the team is giving Flacco another shot because they don’t blame him entirely for the team’s offensive struggles, but rather poor interior offensive line play and wideout drops. That’s an optimistic view. Against a stellar Browns pass rush, the statuesque Flacco will be under constant pressure in Week 2. He’s only usable in superflex formats.
Cleveland Browns DFS Spin
Jacoby Brissett completed 18-of-34 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown in the Browns’ 26-24 Week 1 win over the Panthers. It wasn’t pretty, but Brissett made just enough plays when it mattered to help secure the win. His limited scrambling ability, pocket presence and inconsistent throws helped keep the Panthers in the game or else this may have been a blowout. Brissett did however make timely throws, notably on the Browns final drive to help set up the field goal. It was a rough start, but he should have a better day against the Jets in Week 2.
