Coming off back-to-back wins, are the Panthers a good bet to cover today against the Chiefs at 1:00PM ET in Charlotte?

PANTHERS KEY TRENDS: The Panthers have covered in eight of their last 10 home games but are just 1-4-1 at the betting window in their last six games overall. They’re also 0-3-1 against the spread in their last four games coming off a win and are 1-6-1 at the betting window in their last eight games after accumulating less than 250 total yards in their previous contest.

OUR PREDICTION: The Panthers seem to be playing with more confidence and they could be gearing up to make a second half run at one of the wild card spots in the NFC. Nobody was thinking that in Carolina before the Panthers routed the Cardinals two weeks ago and then picked up a road victory last Sunday against the Rams in L.A. Alex Smith will start for the Chiefs after missing last week with a possible concussion but he could find it difficult to move the ball against Carolina’s stout front seven. The secondary remains an issue for the Panthers but I’ll roll the dice and part with the three points assuming Carolina has figured some things out the past two weeks.
