NFL Week 8 Las Vegas Odds
Outside of two injury situations involving quarterbacks, Las Vegas oddsmakers have posted all of the point spreads for Week 8 in the NFL.
The Injury Situations
Due to Ben Roethlisberger’s playing status for the Steelers and Marcus Mariota’s availability for the Titans, the lines for the Cincinnati-Pittsburgh game and Tennessee-Houston matchup have yet to be posted in Las Vegas. There’s a chance that both starting quarterbacks could be back for their respective teams, so oddsmakers aren’t going to risk posting a line that’s either too low or too high and allow sharper bettors to maximize their value. The lines should surface by the end of the week after one or two injury reports have been posted.
Prime Time Matchups
The prime time games this week are all intriguing, starting with the Thursday night clash in Foxboro. The undefeated Patriots will host the Dolphins at 8:25PM ET for TNF and are 7.5-point favorites to beat Miami, which has won both of its games following the firing of Joe Philbin. Interim head coach Dan Campbell has stepped in and the Dolphins have played with more urgency and passion in their last two games then fans saw at any time under Philbin.
The Sunday night matchup has “game of the week” status as the Broncos host the Packers at 8:30PM ET. Despite being undefeated and boasting one of the league’s best defenses, Vegas oddsmakers list the Broncos as a 3-point home underdog to the Packers. Green Bay is also unbeaten and like Denver, will be coming off its bye.
On Monday night, the undefeated Panthers are listed as a 6.5-point favorite over the struggling Colts, who still have playoff aspirations despite posting a losing record through seven weeks. That’s because Indianapolis plays in the worst division in football, where no team has a winning record. Carolina, meanwhile, is holding off a one-loss Atlanta team to own the best record in the NFC South.
