Bell’s suspension reduced
PITTSBURGH, PA (TheSpread) – The Pittsburgh Steelers got some good news on Tuesday as the NFL reduced the suspension of running back Le’Veon Bell to just two games.
Bell was originally suspended for three games in April for an August 2014 arrest on DUI and marijuana possession charges. Bell was arrested with then-teammate LeGarrette Blount while on the way to the airport for a preseason game.
The league confirmed the suspension reduction in a statement on Tuesday, adding that Bell will be held without game checks because he violated the league’s substance-abuse policy.
According to oddsmakers at GTBets, the Steelers are currently listed with 22/1 odds to win the Super Bowl this upcoming season. The Packers are favored with 6/1 odds while the Seahawks have 13/2 odds and the Colts are listed at 8/1 to win.
Bell had a very productive second season for the Steelers. As a rookie in 2013, Bell rushed for 860 yards with eight touchdowns while catching 45 passes for 399 yards. In 2014, Bell increased his productivity and had 1,361 rushing yards with eight touchdowns while catching 83 passes for 854 yards and three scores.
