Lions’ Ndamukong Suh suspended for Sunday’s playoff game vs. Cowboys

Suh suspended for playoff game

DETROIT, MI (The Spread) – The Detroit Lions are going to be without arguably their best player for Sunday’s playoff game with the Dallas Cowboys as Ndamukong Suh has been suspended.

The league announced on Monday that Suh will be suspended for the playoff game after he stepped on the leg of Aaron Rodgers during yesterday’s NFC North championship game in Green Bay. Replays show Suh step on Rodgers twice and then plant off Rodgers’ leg without acknowledging what he was doing. His past history of overly-aggressive acts played into the decision.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv the Cowboys are a 7.5-point favorite against the Lions for Sunday’s playoff game. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 48 points. You can likely expect to see this spread climb over the next few days because of the suspension.

Bet on NFL Playoff Odds

Suh was a big part of the reason the Lions had the top rushing defense in the NFL this season, allowing just 69.3 yards per game on the ground. They will now face the NFL’s leading rusher in DeMarco Murray on Sunday. Suh has 53 tackles, 8.5 sacks and 13 tackles for loss this season. He leads the Lions in sacks.
