Lions seeking revenge when it hosts the Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon

Lions want revenge vs. Bucs

DETROIT, MI (The Spread) – After a horrible loss at home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season, are the Detroit Lions set to exact revenge this Sunday in Ford Field?

View Current NFL Odds

Essentially needing just a win to secure the NFC North last season, the Lions dropped a 24-21 decision to Tampa Bay last year. Detroit is in a similar position this year, as it is now 8-4 on the season and in need of a win to keep up with the Packers in the division, who are 9-3. The Lions are coming off a 34-17 win over the Bears on Thanksgiving, which snapped a two-game losing streak. The Lions 5-1 at home this season and 6-6 against the spread.

Tampa Bay comes into this game at just 2-10. They suffered a 14-13 loss against the Bengals last week at home, but their last five losses have all been by 10 points or less. Despite that, Tampa Bay is just 5-7 against the spread. However, Tampa’s two wins have both come on the road.

Oddsmakers feel like this is a game where the Lions should roll, as oddsmakers from Bovada.lv have given the Lions a point spread of -10 against the Bucs. The over/under total for the game has been set at 41.5 points (View Matchup). The road team has won and covered in four straight between these two. This game will take place at 1PM ET on FOX.

Tampa Bay doesn’t have a stellar offense, as they rank 18th in the NFL in passing (230.3 ypg) and 29th in rushing (83.3 ypg). The Bucs are up against one of the top defenses in the league in Detroit, as the Lions are first in rush defense (65.9 ypg) and 12th in passing defense (235 ypg). The defense has produced 29 sacks with 15 interceptions this season.
