Detroit Lions DFS Spin
If you’re looking for value at wide receiver, consider the Lions’ D.J. Chark. Chark had a big game against the Vikings last weekend, reeling in 6 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown. He played well against the Jaguars the week before that as well, posting 5 catches for 98 yards. The Jets might use star cornerback Ahmad Gardner on Lions #1 wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown, and this could open up opportunities for Detroit wideouts D.J. Chark and Josh Reynolds.
If you need cost-effective backfield help, consider Detroit running back Jamaal Williams. Williams leads the NFL with 14 rushing touchdowns in 13 games played this season. The Jets’ defense does rank fifth in the NFL in opponent yards per rushing attempt, so there will be some risk if you elect to use Jamaal Williams on Sunday.
New York Jets DFS Spin
Jets quarterback Mike White took some heavy hits against the Bills last week and was removed from the game before eventually being reinserted into the contest. White was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice and has officially been ruled out for Sunday’s game. This means it will be the much-maligned Zach Wilson at QB for the Jets. Luckily, he gets to face Detroit’s horrid pass defense. Detroit is 31st in the NFL in opponent yards per passing attempt, so Zach Wilson might have a surprisingly nice game Sunday.
Jets running back Zonovan Knight has grabbed the starting running back role in New York as he’s posted three straight games with at least 69 rushing yards and 4.2 yards per carry. Detroit is allowing 5 yards per rushing attempt this year, which ranks 29th in the league.
Lions vs. Jets Betting Trends
New York is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following an outright loss.
New York is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games after scoring less than 15 points in their previous game.
New York is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a losing record.
New York is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Lions vs. Jets Prediction:
This might seem like an easy pick. The Detroit Lions have won 5 of their last 6 games and the New York Jets have lost 4 of their last 6 games. Isn’t this a game Detroit should win? I’m not so sure. Lions quarterback Jared Goff has 22 touchdown passes this season. 20 of those touchdown passes have come at home. Goff is a different quarterback on the road, and the Lions are a different team on the road. At home, Detroit is averaging 32.1 points per game. On the road, the Lions are averaging just 18.4 points per game. I think Jared Goff and the Lions’ offense have a tough time on the road against a great Jets defense that needs to win this game to stay in the playoff mix. I’ll take the Jets at home.
