Detroit Lions DFS Spin
Lions in-house reporter Tim Twentyman observes D.J. Chark has been “really impressive all camp.” Stop the presses, we know, that a man paid by the Lions has reported the team’s free agent addition has been impressive, but Twentyman is a straight shooter who reliably provides insightful Lions information. Hampered by injury and Urban Meyer’s appalling incompetence the past two years, Chark would be a highly-intriguing fantasy bounce-back candidate were his quarterback anyone other than Jared Goff. There is also the looming arrival of No. 12 overall pick Jameson Williams following his recovery from a torn ACL. All that being said, the Lions had a better deep-passing game after head coach Dan Campbell took over play-calling duties last season. Chark could make some early-season re-draft noise. For what it’s worth, MLive.com’s Kyle Meinke also passed along a glowing Chark camp report on Saturday.
Pittsburgh Steelers DFS Spin
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports “there is some interest around the league” in a trade for Mason Rudolph. Rapoport added Pittsburgh would move him “for the right price.” Given that he is the Steelers’ third-string quarterback on an expiring contract, the asking price will not be high. Rudolph would be acquired as a backup upgrade for any team interested in his services. He has thrown 16 touchdowns to 11 interceptions across 10 starts. Even as a reliever, Rudolph isn’t a particularly exciting option.

Lions vs. Steelers Prediction:
I realize the Lions are everyone’s offseason darlings because of Dan Campbell’s intensity and “HBO Hard Knocks” but they allowed nearly 30 points in their 27-23 preseason-opening loss to the Falcons and then another 26 points in a 27-26 win over the Colts last week. Had Indy converted on a two-point conversion following their last touchdown, “Hard Knocks” would be 0-2 this preseason. The Steelers, meanwhile, have looked sharp in exhibition play, winning their first two games. I’m laying the points and fading HBO today.
