Detroit Lions DFS Spin
Lions activated QB Matthew Stafford from the reserve/COVID-19 list. This was the expectation all along. It’s not exactly ideal that Stafford was unable to practice this week, but missing Kenny Golladay (hip) is his biggest concern for a plus matchup with the Vikings. Stafford will have to rely on T.J. Hockenson, Marvin Jones and Marvin Hall for big plays. Despite missing his alpha wideout, Stafford remains on the QB1/2 borderline because of the sorry state of the Vikings’ defense.
Minnesota Vikings DFS Spin
Kirk Cousins completed 11-of-14 passes for 160 yards and one score in Minnesota’s 28-22 Week 8 win over Packers. Coach Mike Zimmer’s dream of establishing the run came to fruition as the Packers were simply unable to corral Dalvin Cook (30/163/3), getting bulldozed for 173 yards and 5.08 yards per carry on the ground. Cousins took a backseat, attempting a season-low in passes; his longest completion was actually a screen pass that Cook turned upfield for a 50-yard touchdown in the first half. As always with Cousins, his production comes down to whether or not he’s forced to pass (and he wasn’t on Sunday). He’ll again be ranked as a high floor QB2 in Week 9 against the Lions.
Lions vs. Vikings Betting Prediction
This is a letdown spot for the Vikings coming off the win over the Packers last week. This is still the same team that is 1-5 against the spread in their last six games as a home favorite, are 2-6 against the number in their last eight games as a favorite and are 2-6 at the betting window in their last eight games coming off a win. The Lions, meanwhile, have covered in 11 of their last 16 games coming off a double-digit loss at home.
