Dolphins vs. Ravens Prediction

Can the Ravens put an end to the longest current winning streak in the NFL by beating the Dolphins today at 1:00PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Ravens are 3.5-point home favorites versus the Dolphins after opening as just a field-goal favorite. As for the total, the number hit the board at 41.5 and has been bet down to 41 at the majority of sports books.

DOLPHINS KEY TRENDS: The Dolphins have cashed in five of their last six games overall and are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games versus AFC opponents. They’re also 5-1 against the spread in their last six games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game and are 32-15 at the betting window in their last 47 road games versus a team with a winning home record. That said, they’re 0-11 against the number in their last 11 games in December.

RAVENS KEY TRENDS: The Ravens are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games after allowing less than 15 points in their previous contest and have cashed in five of their last seven home games. They’re also 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games versus AFC opponents but are just 5-15 at the betting window in their last 20 games played in the month of December.

OUR PREDICTION: The road team is 5-1 against the spread in the last six meetings between these two teams and the underdog is 7-2 against the number in the last nine meetings, but the Dolphins kill both of those trends by being winless at 0-6 ATS in their last six games against the Ravens. Baltimore owns the No. 1 run defense in the league and should make Miami one dimensional on offense. Ryan Tannehill is due for a dud game and I’m banking on it coming today in a tough environment. The Ravens offense doesn’t elicit a lot of confidence but Baltimore isn’t the L.A. Rams on that side of the ball either. Entering the fourth quarter this one might be tight, but I like the Ravens to pull away in the end.
