Miami Dolphins vs. Dallas Cowboys 8/19/16 NFL Preseason Picks

Dolphins vs. Cowboys Free Pick

Will tonight’s matchup between the Dolphins and Cowboys at 8:00PM ET be high-scoring for bettors?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cowboys are 3-point home favorites versus the Dolphins after Dallas opened as a 3.5-point favorite. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 40.5 points after opening at that exact same number.

Bet Tonight’s NFL Preseason Action

The Dolphins beat the Giants 27-10 in East Rutherford last week to kick off their 2016 preseason slate. Backup quarterback Matt Moore was the team’s leading passer with 122 yards with one touchdown and one interception on 10-of-14 passing. Former Ram Isaiah Pead also carried the ball 10 times for 50 yards to lead Miami in rushing.

In their exhibition opener, the Cowboys blew a 24-7 halftime lead to fall to the now-L.A. Rams, 28-24. Tony Romo did not play in the game but rookie signal-caller Dak Prescott turned heads by completing 10-of-12 passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. The former Mississippi State Bulldog impressed so much that owner Jerry Jones hinted he is no longer in the market for a quarterback following Prescott’s performance.

OUR PICK: Given how both teams got into the 20s last week in their preseason opener, the over looks like a solid play tonight. Romo is expected to play a series or two before giving way to Prescott and if the rookie is as sharp as he was a week ago, then there should be plenty of scoring in the second half.
