Dolpins vs. Giants Prediction
The Dolphins and Giants kick off their preseason tonight in East Rutherford.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Giants are 2.5-point favorites versus the Dolphins after New York opened as a 3-point home favorite. As for the total, the number opened at 36.5 and that’s where it currently sits for bettors.
Bet Tonight’s NFL Preseason Games
The Dolphins have a new head coach in Adam Gase and will have a slightly new-look offensively as Arian Foster joins Ryan Tannehill in the backfield. The defense also has a new face in Mario Williams, who comes over from Buffalo to join Ndamukong Suh and Cameron Wake along what should be a solid Miami front four.
Speaking of Miami and speaking of new faces, the Giants signed former Dolphin pass-rusher Olivier Vernon as part of their offseason makeover on defense. The team also signed cornerback Janoris Jenkins and drafted free safety Darian Thompson in the third-round to help rebuild the secondary.
OUR PICK: After Eli Manning plays a series or two, the Giants will give way to backup quarterbacks Ryan Nassib and Logan Thomas. Nassib shouldn’t embarrass himself but Thomas has reportedly struggled mightily in camp. With Matt Moore and talented seventh-rounder Brandon Doughty taking snaps deep into tonight’s game for the Dolphins, Miami has a better backup quarterback situation than the Giants. Thus, take the points with the Dolphins and hope that the game comes down to Thomas remaining shaky for New York.
