Monday Night Football Betting Preview: Cowboys-Redskins spread drops

Spread dropping in Cowboys vs. Redskins

Despite the majority of public bettors backing the home team to cover, the point spread in tonight’s Cowboys-Redskins game continues to fall.

View NFL Week 14 Odds

The Redskins opened as 4-point favorites versus the Cowboys for tonight’s 8:30PM ET kickoff but according to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, Washington is now only -2.5. The total is also on the move, going from 42 points up to 42.5.

Our NFL Public Betting page shows that 71% of wagers on tonight’s game are currently on the Redskins -2.5. Thus, the reason for the line movement is likely sharp-related, as wiseguys are buying the Cowboys and betting the line down. Whether or not they’ll swoop in and buy back Washington at a discounted price is not known, but it’ll be interesting to see what kind of line movement we’ll see leading up to kickoff.

The Cowboys are winless at 0-5 against the spread in their last five games on Monday Night Football and they’re also 1-6 at the betting window in their last seven games versus NFC opponents. As for the Redskins, they’ve covered in four of their last five home games but are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games played on Monday Night Football.
