Broncos vs. Chargers Week 6 Odds
SAN DIEGO, CA (The Spread) – AFC West rivals lock horns on Monday Night Football tonight when the Chargers host the Broncos at 8:30PM ET.
DENVER: The Broncos fell to 2-3 following a 31-21 loss to the Patriots last Sunday. Turnovers plagued the Broncos, who had a chance to get back into the game in the fourth quarter by Willis McGahee fumbled inside the red zone to essentially seal the game for New England. Denver failed to cover as a 5.5-point underdog and now its 2-3 against the spread this season. The Broncos have failed to cover the spread in three of their last four games, with their lone covers coming at home as favorites. Peyton Manning has thrown for 1,499 yards while McGahee has rushed for 376 yards.
SAN DIEGO: The Chargers fell to 3-2 on the year with a 31-24 loss to the Saints on Sunday Night Football last week. San Diego also failed to cover the spread as a 3.5-point underdog and is now 3-2 against the number this season. The over is 3-2 in the Bolts’ five games this season and is 2-0 in the past two weeks. Philip Rivers leads the team with 1,251 passing yards while Jackie Battle has a team-high four touchdowns. Defensively, Shaun Phillips leads San Diego with four sacks.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Chargers are 1-point favorites over the Broncos, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 47 points. Denver is 2-3 overall this year and 0-2 on the road, while San Diego is 3-2 overall and 1-1 at home.
TRENDS: The Broncos are 2-8-2 against the spread in their last 12 games versus the Chargers, but the road team is 4-1-1 ATS in the last six games between these two teams and the favorite is 7-2-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings between Denver and San Diego. The Chargers are also 7-0 against the spread in their last seven games versus the AFC and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
