ATLANTA, GA (The Spread) – While the public currently likes the Broncos, the Falcons remain favored in tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup between playoff hopefuls.
DENVER: Peyton Manning’s Bronco debut was a successful one as Denver knocked off the Steelers 31-19 last Sunday night. Manning completed 19-of-26 passes for 253 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He connected with receiver Demaryius Thomas on a 71-yard touchdown pass and also connected with Jacob Tamme on a 1-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter. The Broncos covered as a 2.5-point favorite and the combined score went over the posted total of 45.5 points.
ATLANTA: Matt Ryan was exception last Sunday in Kansas City, completing 23-of-31 passes for 299 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions. He also rushed for a touchdown as the Falcons smoked the Chiefs 40-24. The Atlanta defense struggled in the first half but wound up forcing two turnovers in the second half as the Falcons eventually pulled away. Atlanta covered easily as a 1-point road favorite and the combined score sailed over the posted total of 43 points.
ODDS: The Falcons opened as 4-point favorites but 62% of the betting public currently favors the Broncos so the spread has dropped a full point to 3. The total for this game is 51.
