Lions vs. Cowboys Prediction
The Cowboys have already clinched homefield advantage throughout the playoffs so are the Lions a good underdog play tonight?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cowboys are 6-point home favorites versus the Lions while the over/under currently sits at 45 points. Both the side and the total have moved off the original numbers posted by oddsmakers, as Dallas went from -7 to -6 and the over/under went from 41.5 all the way up to 45.
DETROIT KEY TRENDS: The Lions have been an excellent bet on Monday night, covering in five of their last six MNF games. They’re also 6-2 against the spread in their last eight conference games, have covered in seven of 10 overall and are 5-2 at the betting window in their last seven games when facing an opponent that owns a winning record. They’re 5-1 against the spread in their last six games after accumulating less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game as well.
DALLAS KEY TRENDS: Whereas the Lions have excelled at the betting window on Monday nights, the Cowboys have struggled. They’re just 1-5 against the number in their last six games played on Monday and are 0-4 against the spread in their last four games overall. They’re also just 1-5-1 against the spread in their last seven games after accumulating more than 350 total yards in their previous game.

OUR PREDICTION: The Lions have been a better bet than the Cowboys of late but Detroit is also in full collapse mode. Matthew Stafford’s finger injury doesn’t look like a major problem but the Lions’ complete lack of a running game is and that could hurt them tonight. The Lions have played from behind all season but they won’t be able to get away with that tonight. When the Cowboys have needed to move the ball methodically and salt away clock, they have done that successfully with one of the best running backs in the NFL in Ezekiel Elliott. If they can build up enough of a lead in the first three quarters, I can see Dallas limiting Detroit’s possessions in the fourth quarter and salting away a win and a cover.
