Texans vs. Patriots MNF Odds
FOXBORO, MA (The Spread) – Tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup will pit the top two teams in the AFC against each other when the Patriots host the Texans at 8:30PM ET.
HOUSTON: The Texans won their sixth-straight game last Sunday when they soundly beat the Titans 24-10 in Tennessee. It was Houston’s third road win in its last four games as Matt Schaub completed 21-of-35 passes for 207 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Justin Forsett rushed 14 times for 64 yards while Arian Foster was held to 38 yards on 14 carries and one touchdown. Andre Johnson led Houston in receiving with five receptions for 56 yards, while Owen Daniels finished with three catches for 43 yards. The win runs the Texans’ record to 11-1 overall and 8-4 against the spread, as they covered as a 6.5-point favorite last week. With a playoff spot secured, the Texans will now look to win the AFC South and earn home field advantage in the postseason.
NEW ENGLAND: The Patriots have now won six straight games with their 23-16 victory over the Dolphins last Sunday in Miami. Tom Brady completed 24-of-40 passes for 238 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while Stevan Ridley rushed 19 times for 71 yards with one touchdown. Wes Welker caught 12 passes for 103 yards with one touchdown, while Aaron Hernandez caught eight passes for 97 yards. With the victory, New England improved to 9-3 overall and 7-5 against the spread, although the Pats failed to cover as an 8-point favorite last Sunday in Miami. The Pats have won the AFC East but are two games back of the Texans in the win column for the top seed in the AFC. They’ll look to keep winning to secure home field advantage in at least the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
