Bears vs. Eagles MNF Week 9 Odds
(The Spread) – NFC foes will square off in what should be an entertaining Monday Night Football game tonight between the Bears and Eagles.
CHICAGO: The Bears headed into their bye week with a little momentum after crushing the Vikings 39-10 in Week 6 and soundly beating the Buccaneers 24-18 in London in Week 7. As long as Mike Martz doesn’t ignore Matt Forte (672 rushing yards), Chicago’s offense should continue to improve. With their two wins in their past two games, the Bears are now 4-3 overall and 3-4 against the number.
PHILADELPHIA: Are the Eagles back? That’s the question on a lot of people’s minds after they crushed the Cowboys 34-7 on Sunday Night Football in Week 7. Philly has now won two in a row and is right back in the thick of things in the NFC East standings, where it trails the Giants by two games. The Eagles will be seeking revenge tonight when they take on a Bears team that beat them 31-26 at Soldier Field last year. Michael Vick leads the team with 1,852 passing yards while LeSean McCoy has rushed for 754 yards and has scored a team-high 10 touchdowns in 2011.
ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the Eagles as 9-point favorites over the Bears, while the over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 47 points. Chicago is 1-2 on the road this year while Philadelphia is 1-2 at home.
TRENDS: The underdog is 7-2 against the spread in the last nine meetings between these two teams and the Eagles are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games. Philadelphia is also 1-5 ATS in its last six games in Week 9 and 1-5 ATS in its last six games as a home favorite. The Bears, meanwhile, are 4-11-1 ATS in their last 16 games as a road underdog and 1-4 ATS in their last five games as an underdog.
