Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Patriots are 10-point favorites to beat the Jets. The total, meanwhile, sits at 47.5 points. As of this writing, 74% of the public betting tickets are on the Patriots to cover the point spread.
New England Patriots
Tom Brady (knee) was limited at Wednesday’s practice. It’s a surprise with the Patriots coming off their bye, though it’s possible this explains why Brady was rested for the final six minutes of their Week 10 loss. We haven’t see any concern over over Brady’s status. He should be fine for Sunday’s game with Jets.
New York Jets
Sam Darnold (foot) remained sidelined at Wednesday’s practice. It sounds like Darnold isn’t going to play at less than 100% against the Patriots. It’ll likely be Josh McCown again out of the bye. This offense is a disaster.
NFL Betting Trends
New England
The under is 4-1 in the Patriots’ last five games after allowing more than 30 points in their previous contest.
New York
The under is 3-1-1 in the Jets’ last five games following a double-digit loss at home.
Prediction
I don’t trust the Jets offense to score enough to contribute to the over cashing. The under is also 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams, is 8-3 in the Jets’ last 11 divisional games and 15-6 in their last 21 games played in Week 12. On the other side, the under is 5-1 in the Patriots’ last six games versus the rest of the AFC East and 7-2 in their last nine road games.
NFL Week 12 Prediction: Patriots/Jets under 47.5
