Jets vs. Colts Spread Prediction
The New York Jets are coming off an impressive win over the Broncos in Week 5 but could they stumble as a small home favorite versus the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday?
Game Snapshot
259 Indianapolis Colts at 260 New York Jets
1:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, October 14
MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Jets are 2.5-point favorites to beat the Colts. The total, meanwhile, sits at 47.5 points. As of this writing, 51% of the public betting tickets are on the Jets to cover the point spread.
Indianapolis Colts
Colts LT Anthony Castonzo (hamstring) will play in Week 6 against the Jets. It’ll be his first start of the season. Castonzo was active last week but didn’t play any snaps. His return is a huge upgrade to Andrew Luck’s pass protection.
New York Jets
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Isaiah Crowell (ankle) is expected to play Week 6 against the Colts. ESPN’s Rich Cimini reported the same on Friday. Crowell’s only practice of the week was a limited session on Friday, but he is healthy enough to go in a good spot against the Colts. Coming off a breakout performance, Crowell is an upside RB2 this week.
NFL Betting Trends
Indianapolis
The Colts are just 2-7 against the spread in their last nine games against AFC opponents.
New York
The Jets are 9-2 against the number in their last 11 home games.
Prediction
The Jets were impressive a week ago against the Broncos but I think that game set up an opportunity to fade New York here. The Broncos were coming off a crushing loss to division rival Kansas City on Monday night, then had to fly cross-country to take on the Jets, who were clearly ready for them. The Colts, meanwhile, are off extra rest having played in New England last week and I see them pulling off the small upset here.
NFL Week 6 Prediction: Indianapolis Colts +2.5
