Jets vs. Patriots Total Prediction
While the Patriots are off to a fast start, the Jets couldn’t have asked for a worse beginning to their 2019 season. Down to their third-string quarterback, will the Jets score enough to contribute to the over for bettors on Sunday when these AFC East rivals meet at 1:00 p.m. ET?

New York Jets Fantasy Spin
Sam Darnold (mono) said he has “full confidence” he’ll be ready for New York’s Week 5 matchup against the Eagles. “I’m not going to promise anything because I don’t know exactly where this mono thing is going, but that’s the goal that the doctors and I have set,” Darnold said on his Week 5 target date. Early-season bye weeks are typically arbitrary for recovery, but Week 4 can’t come soon enough so that the Jets can take a break and allow Darnold to heal without missing anymore regular season action. Unfortunately, it’s hard to imagine both Jamison Crowder and Robby Anderson offering much production until New York’s hitting on all cylinders against Philadelphia.
New England Patriots Fantasy Spin
Patriots placed LT Isaiah Wynn on injured reserve with a toe/foot injury. It has been reported Wynn is dealing with turf toe. He is ineligible to practice for six weeks and can’t return to game action for eight weeks. That means Week 11 in Philadelphia would be his earliest possible return date. It is the last thing the 2018 first-rounder needed after missing his entire rookie year with a torn Achilles’ tendon. Journeyman and Week 2 signee Marshall Newhouse is the next man up at left tackle. It’s a problem for a team that doesn’t have many of them.

Prediction
With Luke Falk set to make his first NFL start and given how well the Patriots defense has played through two weeks, it’s understandable that the total dropped from 48 down to 43.5 for this matchup. That said, Tom Brady and Co. won’t be slowing down any time soon. The Browns left plenty of points on the field Monday night at MetLife Stadium but the Jets won’t be as fortunate to hold the Patriots to only 23 points. In fact, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Patriots hang 40 on an overmatched New York defense, one that has serious issues defending the pass. I’m not expecting much out of Falk but if I can get 7-10 points out of the Jets I’m confident the Patriots will handle the heavy lifting to get us over the total.
