Vikings vs. Bears Week 12 Odds
CHICAGO, IL (The Spread) – NFC North rivals clash in Chicago this Sunday when the Bears host the Vikings at 1:00PM ET.
MINNESOTA: The Vikings snapped a two-game losing streak with a 34-24 victory over the Lions two weeks ago in Detroit. It was not only Minnesota’s first victory in three weeks, but also the first time it covered the spread (+3) over that span. The win lifted the Vikings’ record to 6-4 overall and 4-5-1 against the spread. The over has now hit in three straight games for Minnesota and in four of the team’s last five games. Adrian Peterson has been a monster this season despite having knee surgery in the offseason, and is now up to 1,128 rushing yards and seven touchdowns this season. The Vikings are very much in the thick of the playoff hunt in the NFC but they have a tough stretch of games over these next four weeks, starting Sunday in Chicago.
CHICAGO: The 49ers humiliated the Bears 32-7 on Monday Night Football. Jason Campbell was sacked early and often in the loss, while Chicago’s defense had no answer for second-year quarterback Colin Kaepernick of San Francisco. The loss dropped Chicago into a tie with the Green Bay Packers for first place in the NFC North. It was also the second time the Bears failed to cover the spread the past two weeks, as they lost as a 1-point favorite versus Houston two weeks ago and as a 3.5-point underdog in San Fran. Hopefully starter Jay Cutler (concussion) will return this week and assuming he does, the Bears have a good chance to get back on track following their first back-to-back losses of the season.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, this game is currently a pick’em as everyone awaits to hear if Cutler will play. The total has yet to be released for this game.
TRENDS: The Vikings are 0-5 against the spread in their last five games versus the Bears and 0-4 ATS in their last four trips to Chicago. The favorite is also 6-2 against the spread in the last eight meetings between these two teams, while the over is 5-1 in the last six meetings in Chicago.
