Rams vs. Cardinals Week 12 Odds
PHOENIX, AZ (The Spread) – NFC West rivals clash in Arizona this Sunday when the Cardinals host the Rams at 4:25PM ET. Let’s check out the odds for this matchup.
ST. LOUIS: After nearly beating the 49ers two weeks ago in San Francisco, the Rams fell apart last Sunday at home versus the Jets. New York stormed into St. Louis and beat the Rams 27-13 as a 3.5-point favorite, keeping Jeff Fisher’s team winless in its last five games. The Rams are now 3-6-1 overall and 6-4 against the spread this season, sinking to the bottom of the NFC West Division. With playoff hopes dashed, St. Louis is just looking to get better week in and week out. With the youngest roster in the NFL, the Rams are trying to see what they have so that they can continue to build for the future.
ARIZONA: The Cardinals remain in freefall. Following their 4-0 start, they’ve now lost six in a row after dropping a 23-19 heartbreaker last Sunday versus the 9-1 Falcons. Arizona’s defense intercepted Matt Ryan five times in the game, including on the first play from scrimmage. But because of ineffective play from the quarterback position, the Cardinals largely settled for field goals and the defense tired out in the fourth quarter. Arizona is now 4-6 on the year and 4-5-1 against the spread after covering as a 9.5-point road underdog. Rookie Ryan Lindley will start his first game of his career on Sunday, replacing the benched John Skelton. Also, the Cardinals’ offense should receive a boost this weekend when Beanie Wells returns from injured reserve.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cardinals are 1-point favorites over the Rams, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 37 points. St. Louis is 3-6 overall and 0-3 on the road, while Arizona is 4-6 overall and 3-2 at home.
TRENDS: The under is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams in Arizona and 8-1 in the last nine meetings overall. The Rams are also 3-7 against the spread in the last 10 meetings versus the Cardinals are 1-4 ATS in their last five trips to Arizona. The favorite is also 7-3 against the spread in the last 10 meetings between these two teams.
